10 Winter Skin Care Tips

Keep your skin comfortable and protected in the winter with these easy tips.

  1. Use a heavier moisturizer. Just like with a seasonal wardrobe, we need seasonal skin care regime. To keep the skin comfortable, use a heavier moisturizer in the colder months.
  2. Add layers. Also like a wardrobe, adding layers to your skin care routine is a great way to keep the skin protected an hydrated. You can read more about layering by following the link here.
  3. Use a humidifier. When the air is dry it will steal moisture from the skin. Using humidifiers can prevent this.
  4. Stay hydrated. Drinking warm water with lemon or a slice of ginger is nice way to stay hydrated in the winter.
  5. Take shorter showers and baths. Though there’s nothing like a long hot shower or bath in the winter, doing this frequently actually dries out the skin.
  6. Employ daily and monthly skin care rituals. Treat yourself and your skin kindly with regular skin care rituals to protect the skin and uplift yourself during this cold and dark season. Read more about skin care rituals here.

  8. Regularly use lip balm. When the lips are protected and hydrated, the face feels the same!
