02 May Seasonal Allergy Relief with Acupuncture

Seasonal allergies can be so uncomfortable. They keep us from fully enjoying the gift of spring after a long cold winter.  Antihistamines can leave us feeling groggy and end up depleting the bodies systems that work to fight against the pollen and external influences.
Acupuncture has the ability to strengthen the immune system as well as the organs that help to defend against allergies. An acupuncture treatment can also relieve the symptoms of itchy watery eyes, stuffy nose, headache etc… This is to say that acupuncture treats the root of the problem (the cause) as well as the branch (the symptoms).
Acupuncture is part of a holistic system which includes lifestyle, diet and herbs. Changes in diet and herbal supplements can be helpful in conjunction with acupuncture to relieve symptoms of allergies and to leave one stronger for the seasons to come. All this is determined during an intake with a practitioner.
In general, a few treatments should be helpful, with occasional follow ups; especially during the next winter prior to the seasons start.

I developed seasonal allergies in my late twenties. I remember feeling so miserable, it was hard to get anything done.
That’s when I started receiving acupuncture. After the first session, I noticed a huge difference. I haven’t had allergies since.
